{a bike for me...}
{and a bike for paul!}
paul & i bought used bicycles yesterday
from backpeddling - a fantastic guelph bike shop.
we found adorable matching
1970s-era raleighs
(his is a glider, mine is a sprite)
and they are wonderfully vintage,
complete with old seats,
curvy handlebars,
and crazy gear-shifts
(mine are levers in the middle of my handlebars!)
i bought a wicker basket for the front of my bike today,
and paul's got paniers for the back of his.
while he was caged up in his office all day
doing tedious phd work,
i went out for an afternoon-long bike ride all around town,
and discovered that guelph is pleasantly bikeable.
we figure we have at least six more weeks of good weather,
so bring on the biking!
I so wish I had a bike!

Those bikes are gorgeous! It makes me want to live somewhere without as many cars so that biking is not terrifying! Good finds.
ReplyDeleteI also love it that they practically match =) Cute!
yay for bikes!!!! and how cute are they?!? you're going to have a blast cycling {that what the brits call it} everywhere!
ReplyDeleteLove that you got matching bikes! How fun!
ReplyDeletesooo jealous! our neighborhood is very hilly, no biking here unless for a grueling workout!
ReplyDeletemaaw this is oo cute matching bikes :>
ReplyDeleteoooh i want one just like that (but baby blue) for school... a lot cheaper than a car hehe.
ReplyDeleteThose are pretty sweet bikes! I guess it's nice and flat there, so it's good biking.
