the first monday of september

always seems full of so many possibilities...

it is the month of new beginnings,

of cooling temperatures & crisp air,

of leaves beginning to change

and pumpkin spice lattes.

the beginning of september

always reminds me of schoolyears past,

when i would open my fresh new planner

~ and usually a fresh new journal ~

and gaze at their empty pages

waiting to be filled up with

events

assignments

stories

and life,

in general.

this is the second year in a row

that i've gone into september

without a job,

which is a much different scenario.

it's hard for me to enter into this month

of new beginnings

without knowing what i'll be doing at the end of it...

but i'm embracing whatever's to come

with open arms.
